Me and my hub bought our first home a few years back. Obviously I’m into retro interior, love collecting furnitures from the 50’s and 60’s. I know, it’s not easy to be all vintage because it takes a lot of effort (and money) to do a refurbish. But I’m sure it would be much more economical than buying a new expensive one and (or) buying cheap ones only to see them deteriorate in a couple of years.
Of course vintage is not always attractive, so refurbishing can give a fresh new feel to it. I'm not trying to be greener-than-thou, but we could start by stopping ourselves from dumping garbage to this wonderful earth. I’m also not against combining vintage furnitures with the a good quality modern ones with the retro look. It's like being a vegetarian lacto ovo, before going all vegan. ;) Good quality funitures last longer than some cheapo stuff that we mindlessly bought. If we're bored with them, we could always sell them in some garage sale so other people could use them for their houses. The key is good quality ones. After all, other people's garbage could be other people's treasures.
One step at a time.
One step at a time.
